Dr. Karie, a co-founder of Metro Behavioral Health, is a mental health clinician with extensive experience in the field of behavioral health. His focus is on bio psychosocial models providing diagnostics impressions that can be utilized to: identify or rule out specific psychological conditions, formulate diagnostic impressions, educate the patient and care providers, guide care and treatment, as well as to facilitate program planning.
Dr. Karie works in collaboration with patients, parents, teachers, physicians, and other professionals to formulate a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan.
Dr. Karie has a deep understanding of cultural differences, allowing him to work with patients from a diverse background that includes: Laos, Somalia, Liberia, Eretria, Oromo, Ethiopia, and Kenya. Dr. Karie’s treatment method is based on individual/family capacity, current life context and cultural background by using holistic, eclectic and strengths-based approaches.
Dr. Karie’s goal is to provide education, guidance and structure to patients and their support system(s) as they learn to deal with mental illness and work toward an improved quality of life.
