Amal Sharif, MA

Amal graduated with an MA in counseling psychology from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Amal practices from a humanistic/ person centered approach and believes the therapist is a facilitator in the therapeutic relationship where the client is the expert. She also utilizes aspects from Trauma Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, Play therapy and Outdoors Therapy. She has experience co-facilitating Groups and providing individual Psychotherapy.

Amal’s previous professional experience and volunteer work in the community has earned her a variety of experience surrounding issues related to education, community organizing, and child/youth development. She has over ten years of human service background and experience of supporting multi-culturally and socio-economically diverse communities providing client and community services. Her educational and professional work provided her with a wealth of knowledge , skills, and experience in child and youth development, school policy, and educational administration. Amal is a multilingual communicator.
