Jerome Kroll, MD

Dr. Jerome Kroll joined the staff at Metro Behavioral Health in January 2020 after working primarily with minority and refugee patient populations for 40 years at the Community-University Health Care Clinic in Minneapolis. Dr. Kroll is also psychiatric consultant to the Wilder Foundation Southeast Asian ACT Program in St. Paul. He collaborates with the School of Law faculty in providing psychiatric evaluations for incarcerated refugees facing deportation.

Dr. Kroll is professor of psychiatry emeritus at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He was named Teacher of the Year by the residency program in 1983, 1985, and 2011, and Psychiatrist of the Year (2015) by the Minnesota Psychiatric Association. Dr. Kroll has written The Challenge of the Borderline Patient (1988) and PTSD/Borderlines in Therapy: Finding the Balance (1993). He has co-authored, with Sir Martin Roth, The Reality of Mental Illness (1986 reprinted 2009), and with Bernard Bachrach, The Mystic Mind (2005)
